That can't be possible, because Toyoda confirmed he didn't know the West gave Marine an Australian accent. If Toyoda didn't know, it's likely no one else from Sonic Team knew. The accent was just SoA's way of adapting Marine's Kansai dialect.

There seems to be an uptick in Sega enforcing how the characters are depicted instead of allowing everyone but Shadow to be completely OOC. Instead of bitching at the western writers and artists we should have just bullied Toyoda into doing his damn job as character supervisor.
