Related, atheists see this, know that the universe is staggeringly large and there's so much in it, and despite our best efforts there is no suggestion any other advanced life like us exists anywhere. Hell, on our own planet we are the only "animal" that is like us. We actually don't fit in here even though the rest of nature does. That alone would get some gears turning, including the entirety of recorded human history (which, despite the planet apparently being a billion years old, only goes back ~6000 years), every civilization believed in god/gods. Shit, on a historic scale modern humans are only what, 300,000 years old? But the rest of the universe including our planet is billions? And we are the only conscious, complex beings not just on Earth but apparently in as far as we can determine?
