I can't watch any new media with young heroes without being reminded of MHA. Especially with the rhetorical way they use the word "Hero". I don't think it's inspired by MHA, but I think MHA is part of it. They don't use the word "Hero" to mean "Person who saves people who are in danger" it is used as if it is this profession for a 12 year old boy to be that has specific parameters. I can't tell you the amount of times I hear the word "Hero" spoken as an english word in japanese media but used in this way. I don't like it.

It's weird to even HEAR fictional characters acknowledge themselves as heroes. It wasn't that long ago that calling yourself a hero would be considered an insane boast. Peter Parker and Super man and Goku and Sonic are all written NOT to call themselves Heroes (ignore Sonic Heroes please) because of how this sounds.
It's this second version of the word "hero" that seems to encompass "Person who people admire" and also "Recognized official protector".

I don't like it.

Sorry I'm rambling.
