Le Pen has been declared ineligible by a corrupt court so she can’t run for office.
Also keep in mind that even if the government falls, the president doesn’t: Macron will still be president until spring ‘27 unless he resigns.
Best case scenario for Le Pen is:
- Macron dissolves the assembly by then
- Her party (RN) wins the election and allies with the center-right to form a government led by her second in command Jordan Bardella. Macron will be forced to share power with a nationalist government.
- In 2026, Le Pen will have another trial, and although she’ll still be found guilty she likely won’t be sentenced to five years of ineligibility like she was this year
- In 2027, when Macron leaves office, Le Pen runs for office and wins.
How likely this is is hard to tell.
