Tried picrel and took notes.
> - hazy straw. a yellowish gold orange hue to it. Natty nose. A little saison-y but it’s uhh not bad. Hay and wheat and Barnyard nose with lemon. Lemon salt on the palate. Mineral. Mouthwatering acidity. Initial slight effervescence when poured. Soft with a slightly slightly tingly effervescence you can detect on the midpalate into the finish (by the second glass it dissipated). A bit orangey skin contact thing on here for sure. Not too natty but not sure if it’s my style, in its defense it does unfold in the glass. Nose shows herbs and the palate becomes pleasingly metallic with coins, copper, nickel on the finish. Paired with duck leg confit, salad, fingerling potatoes, really brought out the minerality and more elegant complex notes. Had with lunch at Leméac in Montreal. With some time in the glass it gets less hazy. Nose cleans up and shows wild floral notes, palate gets stone fruit, peachy, underripe peach. By the last glass the nose was mineral forward and palate was all coins, mineral (chalky? Slate?), peaches and lemon, in that order.
