Literally none of the decks "died", which is especially surprising because they probably should've killed them outright.

I don't know how someone over the age of 13 comes to this conclusion, unless they're convinced WotC bans things blindly or with a strong bias. Tons of other competitive formats in other games have gone down slippery slopes, but that's usually because it's the pros having majority say in bans and restrictions.
