Going back to lore autism, here's my analysis of Asgore's socio-economic political views in Undertale.
>Corporate interests seem to have a lot of influence in the Underground. Mettaton is an extremely rich corporate tycoon who openly disregards workers’ rights and any safety regulations. In one ending he even orchestrates a corporate takeover of the whole country. In a similar vein, Muffet seems to be highly influential and above the law. There are mercenaries operating out in the open while the Royal Guard seems very small and frankly incompetent.
>On one hand we see examples of inadequate public services being supplanted with private enterprises, while on the other hand we have the Snowball tax which seems to be a bullshit tax meant to patch up the budget deficit. It is likely that Asgore lowered more general taxes like those on sales and income to keep the unrest in check, but this forced him to issue new, less visible taxes elsewhere to keep the country afloat.
>There is a housing crisis in New Home, and people from the city are moving into the more surrounding areas like Snowdin and Waterfall. There is still quite a lot of low-density areas surrounding New Home, which means the housing crisis isn’t caused by lack of space, but rather regulations regarding new housing development. With how much power corporate interests have, it is likely that they lobby to limit new housing developments to drive property prices up.
>We see signs of widespread social inequality and state promoted racism. Waterfall is implied to be a low-income area, or even a slum. Racism against humans is widespread and used for propaganda purposes. There is widespread nepotism, most of the notable monsters we know are private friends of Asgore, the Royal guard seems to be dominated by one dog family.
So overall, Asgore is a laissez-faire neoliberal with conservative social views.
