I sincerely don't even expect a good game anymore, just decent designs, as much as some shitters cry about Galar, their Pokedex rocked. Sure it had some questionable designs, but it was solid overall, and the Galarian birds are amazing.
Then in SV it was the opposite, the entire dex felt like some soulless chink shit made to sell toys, with only a handful of good designs, and when it came to give the regional variant of the legendaries, they fucked it up in both paradox versions.
Like, why make them some unholy dinosaur abominations? Just make them feral cats and mix some new concept like you did with the Galarian birds, is not that hard... And with the future version, they just put some metallic armor on it and call it a day... I can't even explain exactly what happened, but in these last few years it feels like some satanic energy took over this franchise. These new design don't feel like someone trying to make it right and just missing, but actively mocking what Pokemon is. Some sicko having a laugh at making the most boring or grotesquely uninspired and ugly shit possible just for Japanese shartists to love it anyways and Westerners contrarians to break their neck trying to suck their dick and saying how "it was always this bad!"
