AMD effectively created a game development moat with their console APUs.
There are no PC-exclusive AAA games anymore; the biggest titles are optimized to run on console APUs that have semi-custom mobile Ryzen CPU & Radeon GPU.
NVIDIA and Intel don't have any APU that meets the performance requirements of the PS6 and next-gen Xbox.

Even if they offered an economical alternative, the AMD software development & support had been there before 2013.
AMD's competitor needs to offer significantly cheaper APUs to make all that transition worth taking.
AMD understands GeForce will always show off the newest graphics features, but they're happy with catering to everyone else.
Those tech demos take a long time to be relevant in AAA games.

I'm not saying Radeon is better than GeForce or any dumb shit like that, I'm saying these two gaming GPU businesses have different strategies/priorities to maximize profits.
