I don't understand people that make gross clown characters in every game they play. Self inserts at least make sense to me.
But turning everything into a joke that isn't even funny or novel past the 2000's seems deranged to me. I can see someone in a friend group doing it a few times in their teens, but adults who do it I think are probably stunted if it's their go-to.
