Intel does have some things going for it, but the government converting "free money under the CHIPS act" into "a 10% equity buy at a discount, complete with voting rights" and also now implying that "the government will have a say in how the business is run that might not align with what the shareholders want" does not necessarily mean this is a moonshot. Still it could maybe be good as a defensive play in a market downturn. Intel is probably too big to fail.
