The reports of AGI existing are the stupid corporate hype, you idiot. If you really think the AGI they talk about is the real thing without any of the supposedly revolutionary and inevitable techno-emancipatory and transcendental effects, then you've drank the kool-aid and you're just another living advertising tool. None of that shit is real, it's pure corporate fantasy designed to trap people who are disenchanted with reality and make a quick buck off their naivete. Altman recently even said AGI will be more like an enhanced Internet of Things, you will never interact with it in any meaningful way and it'll just serve as a base networking structure for processes we're already familiar with, it won't even look that different, I guess except for the fact that you're going to be dealing with "AI" agents that won't be able to address your customer service problems and will then be redirected to an Indian call center.
Seriously, throw buzzwords at it all you want, you're not looking at this critically in any way and it's poisoning your capacity to understand the world around you.
