At least for XWA, Not really, most TIE fighters are kinda ass for the cost. There are some exceptions like barebones 2 pointers and Magna Tolvan with a cannon + squad leader. Most current Empire lists are either 4-5 heavy hitter aces, or 2-3 aces + beefy filler like Ubbel, Karsabi or Double edge, a lambda. In my experience, Vader, Whisper, Maarek, Juno, GI and Redline are the top aces as of now.
