"I saw the lights were on inside so I entered" syndrome. Basically people will someone doing big numbers and click. This is exactly how it works on Twitch, majority of people click on streams with 100+ viewers and ignore the rest. This is sorta true on YT in smaller proportions, people tend to not click on videos with only hundreds of views or less.
