Germanic countries have moved past waging war against each other, we accept our minuscule differences and get along. The brits were and still are to a degree the dominating foreign culture here, as well as American which has it downsides of course. But the amount of English that is spoken and written everywhere is ridiculous. A lot of our food is labeled in English which I do not like.

Because it works. We put out a lot of slop pop music for the international audience and the majority prefer it in English. We also write the lyrics for a lot of international stars, it's strictly business. Our domestic music is 99% in Swedish, hell even the arab rap is in Swedish.
