possibly weird comparison, but i'm a huge dragon ball autist and this is the EXACT same thing that happened with toriyama and toyotaro, the artist for the DBS manga.
people constantly talk about how he's improving all the time and some say he's even better than fucking akira toriyama.

All that to say, it's some kind of intense autist cope because they can't handle their series having change or negative attention of any kind.
