Background info: You can build mini-addictions into your brain by using dopaminergic substances and pairing them with an activity. It's how gambling addictions form, for instance. Caffeine is a bit safer as it only takes a few days to reset your tolerance and there's no or very minor long term effects to prolonged use (other than messing up your sleep).
Here's my routine:
>wake up, shower
>grab an energy drink
>sit down, play some music (dopaminergic)
>open up librewriter docs: main story on vertical monitor, notes and outline on horizontal
>have my first /sip/ of the day (dopaminergic) reading the last one or two chapters I wrote to get in the headspace (make line edits if I spot problems)
>get to the end and keep writing according to the scene in my head and outline
>continue to drink energy drinks (one to three, been keeping it to two or less lately) while I write until I hit at least my target wordcount (was 1000, now I'm up to 2k)
>once that's done, check outline to see if it needs adjustment based on how the chapter turned out
>if my outline has problems, work on those next
>THEN and only then, do the rest of my internet dailies (you know what I mean)
>have brunch, go to gym, story bounces around in my head at the gym while I do my reading (RR, JNC, etc)
>have dinner, go home, watch anime unless I feel particularly inspired, in which case I do some outlining (I have first draft outline for a whole ass nother story, a story from years ago that needs adjustment, and now a premise and very rough plot for another story I came up with the other day)
>go to bed, fap, and think about what I want to write tomorrow as I fall asleep
Now obviously I'm a degenerate NEET so not everyone can do this, and I feel bad for y'all. The use of caffeine to train myself with dopamine to enjoy writing works wonders (I get more dopamine in the gym from reading, too). And yes, even the serotonin from fapping gets used to fuel my writing-brain as I fall asleep at night. This is what peak human performance looks like.
