Both Afroasiatic and PIE are Nostratic languages spread by nomads.
>You can argue that they influenced the religions of the Semitic people and/or vice versa over the centuries.
Very much. Though it's more Semitic influencing IE than the other way around. The best evidence we have of 'pre semitic influence' beliefs are vedic religion, the narts, and roman descriptions of Germans and Celts. These had greater focus on the underworld, metaphorical cannibalism, and ecstatic states than semitic religions. With the head male deity being an old pater familias sky father instead of a young aggressive storm god.

Christianity is a major break from Judaism but it's even less similar to IE religions that weren't rejections of IE paganism (Buddhism, Zoroastrianism). The concern for the poor, weak, widow, and focus on forgiveness is almost absent in the Greek, Roman, Vedic and Norse world but had precedents in both the Old Testament, and Egyptian and Mesopotamian texts on the duties of the state.
The reason Christianity spread so fast was because they offered the social services the Jews did for each other to people outside the group. Services that weren't provided by the Roman state whatsoever even for citizens.
