Oh the redline here was not to dictate you on what to draw, more to show you where to improve on your proportions/spacing.

I used the nose as a reference for lining up my tracing of the original as I thought it was a focal point and oyu can see that the tilt of the eyes is a little bit wrong in comparison to the mouth but you got the mouth generally correct.

The "scary" feeling of the blocked-out drawing is lost in the redline but that's why you should take it with a grain of salt . yours has the essense of the goofiness because yours is rounder. Mine is just there show you where your placements are wrong. use fur like lines instead of hard outlines. Fluffiness can be represented in different ways but I would recommend in this case since you're using (digital) pencil, i would use short varied strokes kinda like hatching. picrel.

I'm just blocking out the original image in general forms too. I wouldn't worry about making it look too much like mine. I don't know how I would draw him any better than you have since I don't draw animals often :') sorry..

Keep the sparkle in the eye but draw the shape of the sparkle first before filling in the eye.
