Especially in a genre so burdened by rigid gender roles resulting in an absence of nerdy male mage heroes. The entire "girls are healers and mages, boys are warriors" trope has such a death grip on everything anime-styled. Fuck knows Golden Sun participates in the cliché more often than not.
