This is my problem with these articles. Why are gaming websites waiting until now to speak out against this sort of thing? Game companies have been pulling this bullshit for over a decade now, even during the PS3 era. The only difference is that Nintendo is requiring game companies to use this jew star ass segregation category that clearly states "this isn't a physical copy because the publisher is too cheap to give you one", whereas every other platform simply keeps quiet about it, hoping their customers won't ask if their bespoke physical media format actually includes the entire game.
Nearly every major PS5 release in the past calendar year has a physical release that doesn't have the full game on the disc, the only game that didn't require a download was Astro Bot. Fucking Balatro's physical copy on PS5 requires you to download game data, that's not even a 400MB game to begin with. This is the type of bullshit that led to people making spreadsheet websites just to keep track of this stuff.
The worst part? Nintendo started doing this to prevent third parties from shitting out a million download vouchers in plastic cases like they did with Switch 1 games, and companies like 2K are still doing that anyways.
