Modern self improvement is essentially masturbation. What a far cry from the initiation rites of antiquity, when self improvement was about mastering consciousness and becoming God. Now it's all about building up the corporeal body while leaving the mind and spirit to rot. And for what? The chance at experiencing fleeting sensate pleasures.
