Romantic love is a farce that grew out of Medieval maiden tails, then reached fever pitch during victorian times. Then was normalized into something put in kids shows by Disney films.
It's not real, what you guys think of romantic love is mad, hormone driven lust.
Long term "love" is when you find someone of the opposite sex that you want to have sex with and want to take care of them even when they're not hot anymore, and you've had a few fights. Someone you're the "happiest" with, not even necessarily happy, especially not all the time, just someone who makes your life a little better and keeps you from feeling completely alone.
Thats real love.
