Because liking somthing is not the be all end all, the experience is.
Not everything in life and in the media we consume has to or should be fun all the time.
A work should be able to invoke every emotion from its audience that its creator wants to invoke and should be judged on both its ability to make that message and on ones personal tastes as separate factors.

With that in mind if Toby wants to do a pivot to harshly addressing the audience for engaging in the first place (which if UT Genocide is anything to go by he can manage with legitimate grace) it should be his prerogative to do that and as long as he isn't hurting anyone, to deny it is wrong on principle.

TLDR Whether one likes it or not is the wrong question to ask in the first place.
