Shadow (Black Ash or Caustic Alchemy) plus Rapid-Fire or Sniper is a tried and true, effective build. Admittedly, it can be rather repetitive and routine-inducing, as I have seen, but at least it gets the job done competently.
I have run and played plenty of anime-aesthetic D&D 4e. I have run and played plenty of anime-aesthetic Draw Steel. It is easy. Just use anime character images and call it a day.
I am currently using Draw Steel for a game vaguely inspired by Honkai: Star Rail.
