The only reason the lazy use of stock assets that haven't been altered even slightly is actually a problem is because the story (especially the pacing of the first two acts) is absolute dogshit, and because the idea to implement parries is the laziest and most poorly implemented normie-bait concept they could've gone with. None of the main quest encounters do anything interesting with turn based mechanics because the devs are the epitome of style over substance retards. It's worshipped by the kinds of people who think Avengers Endgame was unironically one of the greatest films of all time and then start to sperg out when you laugh at them for trying to use the box office as an argument. It's worshipped by the same journalists who worshipped bioshock infinite, because they have this deep psychological need to see their parents take them seriously after they decided to get a career in video games. It'll win GOTY so these people can feel better about themselves and then two years from now if you ask anyone to describe their favorite main quest encounter in the game, the only thing any of them will be able to recall about it will be the parry timings on the attacks. It'll sound like they're describing a souls boss fight. There'll be no word on the actual turn based mechanics because outside of optional side shit, the game never pushes you to learn anything about them, because this isn't a game where you engage in turn based combat, it's a game in which you press the parry button at the right time, and that's what the devs wanted. It's more of a marketing pitch than it is a video game.
