One legitimate summer vacation day adventure. Just drop them in some nostalgic neighborhood amalgamation with candy/food stores, arcades and parks and make them do lil activities to earn the 'allowance' to pay for everything or better yet leave some chest around with money and stuff to collect, make them experience a day as if they were kids again, maybe add conflict via trying to escape curfew to go to the carnival in town or something.
