I remember back in BFA I think it was they did a massive modder banwave and the backlash was enough for them to revert all those bans.
Also, tMorph/iMorph was a thing still during Classic, I remember people streaming themselves riding Spectral Tigers and morphing r14 and naxx gear before it was available.
