We don't know that Darkners don't have souls, they just don't have souls like a Lightner's. They're like monsters in Undertale, they don't have a Lightner's Determination.
Whether they have souls or not, they're not sociopaths like Flowey. We don't know how much a soul really matters in Deltarune.
