yeah but why do only the special anime chosen ones get to use quickenings while you spend the rest of the game fighting bucket heads with 1500's weapons in one shitty desert after another? the two biggest inspirations for final fantasy were naussica and star wars aka stories where despite having lots of swords and fantasy old time visuals had the enemy soldiers packing heat, meanwhile bathier is stuck using a shitty flintlock that most players end up replacing with a melee weapon because they're fucking weak and outside of the odd area destroyed by crystal nukes the whole game is spent in photorealistic (by ps2 standards) areas
