>Trump installs Russ Vought of Project 2025 as Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, aka the guy that oversees Visa and mastercard.
1. There are multiple people "of Project 2025"
2. He's the director of the OMB (Office of Management and Budget), AKA the guy in charge of the payroll of federal staffers. The CFPB is a quasi-legal organization that was created by Obama in order to police businesses despite not necessarily having the legal authority to do so. They're basically a group of federal lawyers and activists and have no real power because Congress didn't give them any.
3. The CFPB doesn't "oversee" businesses. They sue businesses for breaking laws. This isn't China where businesses are an extension of the government.
>Russ Vought has said on video he specifically wants a national porn ban and wants it implemented through back door (not laws) means
He said he wants there to be laws that put the onus of age verification on the porn businesses. This has nothing to do with payment processors. Oh, and this isn't extra-judicial either. States are passing these laws he supported.
>Visa and Mastercard start going after American companies like Steam to de-platform porn games.
The Payment Processors have been going after Japanese companies since 2019. This isn't anything new.
>Massive backlash from gamers
>Somehow it gets trump's attention since this will lose republican votes on top of their state ID laws that are defacto porn bans
The ID laws are state level and Trump doesn't care because he has no authority over these laws. The 9th and 10th amendment mean that the age verification laws are under the jurisdiction of state legislators unless and until the Supreme Court rules on them (SCOTUS will side with the states).
