The squad at max power with sensei buff was having trouble fighting even one of the artificial angels, Mika during the battle just randomly shows up and one shots it. Which is a detail you miss if you don't watch the main story fight choreography

Average Arius grunt is a malnourished child with no actual training, they're just tortured and sent out to fight. Beatrice doesn't care if they die which is why the only training they really get is fear and obidence training

Azusa alone managed to beat a few hundred arius grunts at one point, they suck.

Every appearance of Arius grunts is them losing by the dozen. A few thousand arius grunts working together couldn't even scratch Mika solo.
