It is not really that far off from Margaret Brundage's actual pulp art which was hugely influential. Rober E. Howard is on record loving it and some of Weird Tales writers were purposefully writing scenes that would make good Brundage covers.
That being said Clark Ashton Smith disliked her art and had different idea of what weird fiction aesthetic should be like, he called Brundage's women looking like "wet nurses" a funny yet tiresome complex.
