it perfected the sublime atmosphere that already made Tsukihime and FSN so special
>late 20th / early 2000s urban environment
>everything is rapidly developing and modernizing
>live in old-money fancy mansion on the outskirts of town
>romantic (and sexual) tension between teenagers working together and suddenly living together
>occult mysticism under cover of the night
>nostalgia for traditional way of live that's slowly fading away
It's peak romanticism.

Tsukihime and Fate have that element too, but they're much more focused on action and battle that Mahoyo.
Fate as a franchise gets especially bad with this is with shounen fags and spinoffs focusing more on the game mechanics of the holy grail war than what actually made FSN good.
