Not really because even ignoring the whole film thing, the idea that the original game is always superior is just wrong. Sure that ends up happening now most of the time because the industry has turned to shit but that doesn't mean remakes better than the original don't exist.
For example MediEvil PS4 is objectively better than the original game and even has the original game included.
