That's the thing, lockpicking having an entire skill section dedicated just for it has been an entirely vestigial thing from when picking locks was purely a stat check. The second it became an active minigame you as the player do yourself it should've simply been rolled into something as a larger whole for general thievery or somesuch. There's things that should not suffer from consolidation but lockpicking has never really been one of them. There's not much you can do with [pick lock], [pick larger lock] and so on unless you start adding all kinds of nonsense that's barely anything to do with it. Consolidate lockpicking and free up space for the return of blunt or something.
