This is base pay, for a 38hr week. Not including before and after school programs or weekend work that would add to the pay. Every year you get a pay rise until yoy reach the maximum.

Unlike in America teaching is a proper degree that has increasingly high standards. Half of it is stem subjects at this point, as it becomes expected that yoy will follow scientifically valid teaching tactics.
