they don't look at those manatees and say "oh yeah that's an attractive girl I actually want to marry and be with"
they instead think "yeah that bitch is an easy fuck" pump and dump type thing
the level of investment is zero and for a lot of guys they'd rather get laid easily with something like that versus having to put in a lot of effort to get someone more attractive or even not have sex that night at all
