I really do try to not be shitty about it, but it also seems childish to me that what I choose to eat (or not) offends them. That suggests to me that they know they shouldn't be eating cake every week, but that if we all indulge together we can act like that's normal behavior.
I also remember one specific comment, a woman offered me cake and another stopped her and told her I don't eat cake, and said "that's why he's so skinny." I'm 5'10" and 175 lbs, so I'm not "skinny." Also, I do eat cake every once in a while, but I make it a treat and actually have something good, unlike the cheap shit the office gets.
