A shirt and pants doesn't look out of place in most situations. The full suit does.
The problem with the suit is that you look boring and conformist, unless you stand out physically (which you particularly don't), you'll get massively mogged by anyone who looks better than you AND tries less than you, in any social situation.

It just turns into a hobby for people, and it's no longer about wearing something that's a balance of comfort, looking good and liking yourself, it's about exercising your hobby.
