>There is no excuse for Capcom abandoning the Mega Man IP
Let's review shall we?
>Classic has the most basic formula and arguably most success save for the Battle Network line of RPGs
>X series effectively shat itself as time went on and fans constantly argue which ones suck and which ones are good
>nobody played Legends, that's why it's dead
>Zero series managed to get four games in a platform life cycle, but people dislike the art style so they continue to ignore it
>Battle Network is the second most successful series of games that spanned two platforms
>nobody liked Star Force until the 3rd game and by that point it was too late
>ZX went through the same problem as the above on top of using an art style people still weren't 100% sold on from the Zero series (but everybody masturbates to Aile anyway and there's a good chance only 2% of her fans actually played her game)
Long story short, Mega Man's done a lot and most of it with middling results as far as Capcom's concerned. I'm not even talking about sales, I mean overall reception. It's amazing people expect an X9 when X4-X6 are heavily debated about in terms of their overall quality and X7 is deemed among the worst games in the series while X8 came out to a roaring ho-hum, yet people act like X9 should totally happen. And I'm not saying this as a hater or nay-sayer, but seriously sit back and review what Mega Man's been through and it's no wonder the IP is relegated to mostly crossover content these days.
