you could even implement a few of these plugged into the wall outlets around the house, and not have to physically flip the power switch off on any 'smart devices' you want to be certain are turned off at the surge protectors, and off the network.
just like the good old days, when turning off devices really meant turning off devices, and not putting them in a low power state.
