>PS3 and 360 seems like the last time a console was doing things their predecessors couldn’t
One thing I think people here never consider is the screenshot/record function modern consoles have. Consoles didn't have that prior to PS4 and Xbox One (or they did in a limited capacity that was very rarely used).

Unfortunately as a feature it constantly gets mischaracterized as a "looool it's a facebook button" thing but I sincerely think the standardization of the ability to screenshot and record gameplay on consoles without even considering streaming. It allows people to record meaningful moments to them. If you found something ultra rare or special in a game, you can record it. If you beat some super special challenge or time trial, you can record it or screenshot your score/victory screen.

I loved shiny hunting in Pokemon as a kid and you had to take photos of your screen for that shit if you even had a camera available. Now you can get clean direct screenshots of it if you want and I love that.
Is Bayonetta 3 worth going back to?

I loved 1, like genuinely immensely loved it. I played it through 10+ times over the years, multiple platforms. I even platinumed it on the dogshit PS3 version before I played better versions. I could probably do another playthrough right fucking now, honestly.

I remember loving 2. I felt like it was more of 1 in a good way and I genuinely thought the way it resolved a whole bunch of shit in the story from both 1 and 2 was really cool. I never did a second playthrough but I think that was purely because of it being on Wii U.

I got 3, I got a few chapters in and fell off. I don't know if I just wasn't feeling it or something. The one thing I do remember is thinking some of the weapons/abilities felt a bit too obtuse to feel "natural" to me. The train thing comes to mind, but maybe I just wasn't getting it right. I don't think I actively disliked it though.

I have a Switch 2 and I hear the frame rates for it are better there so that might help, maybe, but I don't think that bothered me in the first place.
