Final game - Need for Speed Porsche 2000/unleashed

>available on pc, psx

The two versions are wildly different games with about the only commonality if they have a bunch of porsches in them. The PC version was made by EA while psx was done by eden games (of test drive unlimited fame).

Playstation

Pros
>has a few unique cars (like the 917K) not in the pc version
>tracks are visually the most different from each other
>has a bunch of multiplayer focused game modes like capture the flag
>tracks are all circuits

Cons - there will a lot as I do not look too favourable upon this version despite it being the one I actually played back in my day
>no option in single race to have just you and traffic on a course
>time trial is just reach each checkpoint before time expires rather than a timed lap
>runs slow out of the box
>handling is somewhat heavy and cars feel unresponsive under hard cornering and not in a good way
>no cockpit view
>lower quality car models

PC

Pros
>cockpit views for cars and they are higher quality than those in NFS IV
>higher quality car models
>subjectively the track design (as in layout, not visuals specifically) is better
>you can really feel the rear engine weight in the handling model, making some of those old turbos a real animal to drive even with tuning
>proper analog support
>proper widescreen support once patched
>cockpit view has the driver's arms and they actually change gear (and that satisfying thunk in many models)
>had a small number of add-on cars
>some mods available, but not many

Cons
>most tracks are just point-to-point which means if you want to do multiple "laps" you have to go back into the menu
>the monte carlo circuit courses aren't fantastic - 1 would've been enough
>moby dick is not as cool as the 917K
>subjective (and a minor one) the track visuals are not as visually striking as the psx tracks

OVERALL SUGGESTION:
PC version is the one to play as it is a better package and you can still cruise the tracks.

I just like classic need for speed.
