It's less so Jax's own insecurity that forces him to submit and it is more likely that he just does not want to test what Kinger is capeble of, so he humors what he can to keep him predictable. At the end of the day the crew think he nuts, not totally harmless. Pomni found that out at the mansion with his swiftness around firearms. It's not unreasonable to assume everyone else has a rough understanding about that with Kinger over the course of their old adventures and seeing the feats he can pull off. At best it's like having a guy with tard strength, if he tells you to say peekaboo you do it because it's not worth the hassle of being on the recieving end of that strength over something mundane you don't need to escalate. At worst it's like having some guy with PTSD and a clearly very, very violent background (something Kinger already half-qualifies with his dissociation and use of firearms)
