Is Dogmatika pretty much a cult for Aluber to marry the sacrifice Maximus/Chaplin offers to him.
The Despians (including Grand-Guignol) imply that the whole event they’re putting on is a massive show. A ritual.

Even the Maximus that comes out as this big giant has holes in his hands that imply he is meant to die to complete the ritual. And he pops out of the Despian Theater. His form, his actions, and his death is all a part of the script, the character he is playing. In the aftermath, Quem is wondering around in the Dogmatika ruins wearing a veil on her head. Aluber is in another realm, served by Chaplin, and he’s dressed with a new mask that resembles the face of Grand-Guignol, the completed form of the sacrificed saints.
