you say that, but the real reason is that the energy sword is straight up a bad weapon for human hands because it wasn't design to be used by us, sure it looks cool as hell but its more like a dagger that you can use to thrust and slash than a real sword.
i mean look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm3-a6_BOlA and see how the guy using the energy sword is holding it, that looks straight up uncomfortable.
