It is genuinely better than the main game. I've only played Elden ring. I never played any of the other Dark Soul games but I hear complaints that Elden ring is too large. In which I am in agreement. Shadow of the erdtree is smaller and much more focused. It is 100% Worth the purchase just based on the music the bosses and the aesthetic. Felt like climbing a dark tower.
