I beat all the bosses as Wylder and I’m trying out the other characters now, and Guardian feels completely miserable to play. guardian is really, REALLY good throughout the days if you get an extended skill duration relic. he struggles against bosses because he still gets knocked back quite a bit with steel guard, which is why his halberd guard counters can run forward a bit if you hold R2. it really sucks that he doesn't have this R2 on spears and great spears considering great spears are great.

You should super guard basically every single attack. It's an invincibility button that allows you to play super aggressive.

Honestly if Guardian got a unified moveset with the spears, halberds, and great spears like Raider does with his classes, I'd have no complaints. That's really my only issue, I love the halberd guard counter R2 and it doesn't really make sense he doesn't get it with the other polearms, especially when great spears are pretty prevalent in his loot pool.

best tip i can offer is putting yourself in harm's way when you're not main aggro, basically just walking around in front of the person who does have aggro and getting guard reflect damage and skill damage off will help you get aggro back
rapiers & great rapiers, especially antspur, are good on him too because you can shieldpoke
but halbreds are obviously the main reason, doing a well timed guard counter can do upwards of 1000 damage with the right setup and dormant powers, this is in addition to the multiple damage reflect procs and skill damage you're dealing too

There are several problems with your statement. In other Souls games bosses get massive HP buffs if you summon for them. If summons die, they're out of the fight permanently, but boss HP isn't reduced. If the host dies, the entire fight ends. None of these things apply to Nightreign, where a daytime TPK doesn't even restore the boss's health and even in night/Nightlord fights the other players can be infinitely resurrected.
That's not even getting into shit like relics giving you some truly retarded buffs and the skill system. Pre-nerf Bloodhound Step doesn't hold a fucking candle to Ironeye's skill and it doesn't cost him a thing.

For Woods and Mountain, sure, but Crater can take a while and you really shouldn't skip anything in it because the fire prelates drop great stuff sometimes, the demi-human queens are stacked for some reason, and even the lava gargoyle and fallingstar beast are worth it. Noklateo you'll want to at least kill a black knife assassin and headless troll, and astel is right next to the edge of the circle so you'll really want to get to him ASAP because once the circle closes, it's gonna be raining in that chapel in a few seconds. I tend to kill Loretta on the way to Noklateo at the very least, often doing some other stuff, but you have to remember it replaces the castle so you really should just kill as much as you can in there.
Woods can also be rushed day 1 if you really want the rally, then you can focus day 2 entirely on it and castle since the forest is filled with foes.
