the term 'goon' predates it's association with masturbating around here --
it's a slang term for boxed wine (the bag it comes contained in being a "goon" sack. It's what you used to drink at parties when you couldn't afford anything else (I've done it many a time myself -- it's an acquired taste. There was also a drinking game associated with it called "goon of fortune" wherein you'd peg a goon sack to clothes-line and spin it around, and whoever it stopped closest to would have to take a swig.
by complete coincidence I am currently drinking "goon" shiraz -- because it was on special when I went to the bottle-o earlier... it's fancy goon, though...
